| Lakes of Austin Park Water Distribution | Monday, Jan 4, 2010 |
City Council recently authorized a construction contract for the above referenced project. The project will provide for the installation of approximately 7,500 linear feet replacement water main within the Lakes of Austin Park subdivision. The project will reduce system maintenance by replacing deteriorated water lines and help to reduce service disruptions in your area. The enclosed map shows the proposed project limits. The majority of line construction will occur within the street rights-of-way along the front yards of residences on Grand Cayman Dr., Explorer Cove., Seahorse Cove, Virgin Island Drive, Balboa Dr., Lake Field Blvd., Jamaica Dr., Nassau Dr., Bermuda Dr., streets. All individual water services, along street rights-of-way will be replaced. The majority of the new water main installed will be done by an augured installation to avoid conflict with existing improvements such as driveways, trees, landscaping etc. Restoration will include full sod replacement in all areas excavated or otherwise disturbed. There will be instances of required water service outages to accommodate construction. These service disruptions will typically last no more than a few hours and you will be notified individually prior to the scheduled service outage. The overall construction project duration will last approximately six months. However, actual work on your street and adjacent to your residence is expected to take only a couple weeks on average.
